Nov 19, 2011 - MIMS community forum participants have had success in testing a new update, Rev 6.5, on their MIMS Model Configurator V6.4. All the known issues that were present with the previous versions of the product have been fixed and this update may be installed now without any problems.
This release of MIMS includes important patches for the i7, i5, i3, and RS280 CPU versions of the product. The i7 and i5 have been updated to address some of the problems that have been reported from users and the release of these updates should resolve a lot of the problems that have been reported.
A download and manual installation of MIMS will be available from our site when the new release is completed.
A "Meet the Team" presentation will be available from January 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm EST.
The MIMS project is a software development project that provides a software modeling and simulation environment for use in the design of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical systems. The MIMS project is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
The original MIMS 6.0 model configurator was developed in 1988, and during the development process, a tool was designed to model the MIMS environment. This tool is called the Model Configurator (MIMS-C). In 1998, a new commercial version of MIMS-C was developed, and by 2002, the MIMS project decided to discontinue using the original MIMS-C tool and to develop a new tool named the Model Configurator VI. MIMS-C and MIMS-VI (Model Configurator) are two distinct tools that work differently; each one has its own advantages and disadvantages.
In 2004, the MIMS project initiated the development of a community-based modeling and simulation environment, and MIMS-VI was redesigned to take advantage of the new modeling capabilities provided by this new environment. The MIMS community works closely 01e38acffe
